We Are Moving Updated

Back in the beginning of this past December we posted an announcement that We Were Moving. Followed soon after by this Update that stated that because of construction delays the estimated move in date was postponed.

Since then we’ve been constantly asked when the new date will be.

Well we just heard from the contractor that the landlord hired and he said he’s estimating another 4 weeks to complete all the necessary renovations.

Then we have to have our x-ray unit disassembled, moved, reassembled, and re-calibrated and have all our equipment and supplies moved.

We are estimating to be moved to the new location at 1 Brookfield Glen Drive, Suite B, Belvidere, NJ 07823 some time in the beginning of March 2012.

Until then we will continue to be of service to the surrounding communities at our current location and are very excited to see you and your family at the new location in March 2012.

Having been truly blessed and thankful to be a service here in Belvidere the county seat of Warren county New Jersey and the surrounding communities of: White Township, Hope, Blairstown, Oxford, Columbia, Delaware, Harmony, and Phillipsburg; as well as, the neighboring communities such as: Bangor, Upper and Lower Mt. Bethel in Northampton county Pennsylvania at our current location for the past 9 years, we have simply outgrown our current space.

We realize that the best thing for our current and future patients is a much larger office with ample parking and one that is more handicap accessible.

Our new address will be: 1 Brookfield Glen Drive, Suite B, Belvidere, NJ 07823. Located across the road from Mackey’s Orchard on route 519 at the entrance of Brookfield right across from the Chelsea (only about 3 miles away from our current location).

We are excited to see you and your family in our new location after our estimated move in on:

Why I Don’t Believe in Chiropractic

When I’m not at Belvidere Chiropractic Center helping patients and I’m out and about with my family and I happen to meet someone for the first time, after being asked the proverbial, “So, what do you do?” my answer of course is, “I’m a chiropractor.” At which point in time, I either get, “That’s wonderful, I’m a big believer in chiropractic” or the complete opposite statement, “I don’t believe in chiropractic.”

I find it really hard to respond to either statement since both really don’t make any sense since, to ‘believe’ according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is: “To have a firm religious faith” and that the definition of religious is: “Relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to a deity”.

Yet, the definition of chiropractic by Dr. Virgil V. Strang author of Essential Principles of Chiropractic states: “Chiropractic is that clinical science that is based upon a law of biology that states that inborn into all living things is the ability to be well. It draws on the fundamental law of physiology stating that the nervous system (consisting of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and special sensory organs) controls and co-ordinates all other organs and structures in the body and relates it to its environment.”

So, since chiropractic is a “clinical science based on the fundamental laws of biology, anatomy, and physiology” therefore; belief, religion, and/or faith don’t factor logically into the equation.

So that’s why I don’t ‘believe’ in chiropractic I know it to be true since I get to see these fundamental laws of biology and physiology at work everyday, day after day after day, with predictability and reproducibility and that is by definition what scientific is.

Help Put an End to Blood Cancer

For the past two years now I’ve been active on social media sites such as: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube and through these social media sites I have had the opportunity and pleasure to connect with some really amazing people.

One such person is Michael Andreano who works with local business owners here in the Lehigh Valley on social media. Watching the local community and the world communicate online, the thing that really caught his attention is its powerful use in helping charities and the local communities.

Michael Andreano has always been a person who believes in giving back and because he himself is truly blessed to have three healthy children, what motivates him is to try and help others have the same and is now teaming up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in a campaign to help raise money to find a cure and put an end to the debilitating effects that leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma can have on those who suffer from these blood diseases.

In fact, incidences of lymphoma are on the rise, leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer, and is still one of the leading causes of death by disease of children in our country.

We have to keep working to find a cure, but we need your help.

Why Are You On All These Social Sites?

The other day a long time patient of mine came in for his monthly wellness maintenance adjustment and asked me, “Why am I getting these Email invitations to join you and/or sign up to all these various social sites?”

As I was concerned about what I was doing regarding his analysis and treatment, so I probably didn’t answer his question as well as I could have. So, later that evening I thought I should write up a quick post and answer him and all of you who probably have the same Question.

If you happen to already be a patient of mine you probably noticed I mail you a postcard or newsletter about once a month. These are intended to be informative and educational regarding your health or any community events that we are participating in. One of my goals as a Health Care Professional is to educate my patients, their family, their friends and the general public so they can truly benefit from their care and help others do the same. This works pretty well but due to the amount of time, effort, and to keep costs low, I can only do about one mailing a month. Once you receive this news letter or postcard it is not as easy to share it with others you care about.

This is where the internet comes in… For a long time I’ve wanted to email you information, because it is easier for you to forward it, print it out, or whatever you find is easiest for you so you can also share it with others you care about or anyone else you think might benefit from the information. But our old practice’s management software didn’t allow me to export all of your Email addresses so it wasn’t possible. So bye-bye old software … hello, new one…

About the same time I started this “Blog” (fancy name for new type of 2.0 website that you can subscribe to and interact with by comment on) so now the information is posted to this site … sent to your Email… and also linked to the other social sites…

So Why the Other Social Sites?

Because they’re fun, easy and a great way to connect with people …not only can I send you this blog information. I can also post all kinds other things and connect with you in all kinds of ways … letting me know more about you and your daily life … which as your Family Chiropractor will ultimately benefit our relationship and your health and well being.
