Once again, Belvidere Chiropractic Center is proud to partner with The Salvation Army on their annual Holiday Angel Tree Program, which provides new toys for local children of needy families.
Local Area Children are counting on you to make sure they have a Merry Christmas this year. Christmas is a time for celebrating, eating good food, opening gifts and being with the ones you love. Most of you would say it is the most joyous season of the year. However, others might disagree. Simply put, although most of you are fortunate enough to provide gifts for people you care about, the lady that lost her husband and is working to support her three kids making $20,000 a year is not so fortunate. To her, it is a time of struggle and a time of disappointment because she cannot provide what she would like to for her children.
Fortunately, there is a program called the Salvation Army Angel Tree that makes it all possible for Local Families like this. The Angel Tree was created back in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White. The first year it was created, over 700 children received gifts and had a happier Christmas.
Since then, the Angel Tree is now helping over 41,000 children each year to have a better Christmas. It’s a very admirable program and we are pleased to say we participate.
In a thank you post last year I mentioned that, our Salvation Army Annual Holiday Angel Tree Program was a huge success and that, your generosity and kindness brought happiness to many local children whose families were experiencing economic hardship who otherwise would have been unable to provide gifts for their children.
With all your help we were able to collect hundreds!! of new toys for deserving children of needy families in the local communities who counted on you to make sure they had a Merry Christmas. In fact, there were so many generous donations that we had to have the Salvation Army come several times to pick up the toys since they were taking up our entire waiting area!
The Salvation Army then sorted and delivered your gifts to all the local little angels and just in time for Christmas!
This year many of these and unfortunately even more, local area children in the surrounding communities are counting on you once again to help make sure they have a Merry Christmas.
So please, while you are out shopping for your loved ones this year, remember to pick up some things for local children in need and then just drop them off during our normal hours, Starting Today and until December 14th, 2012.
I’d like a stocking made for a giant,
And a meeting house full of toys,
Then I’d go out in a happy hunt
For the poor little girls and boys;
Up the street and down the street,
And across and over the town,
I’d search and find them everyone,
Before the sun went down.
